Sage introduces e-payment service for SMEs

Sage represented a secure online credit and debit-card processing for Irish businesses that will allow them to accept payments through their websites, over the phone or by mail order. When customers use the SagePay system, their credit-card details are entered on a secure payment page and no cardholder information is ever passed unencrypted. The system provides a simple wizard that will take users through the payment process step-by-step.The solutions also contain flexible payment features, multicurrency capability, simple integration and provide comprehensive reports. Sage is Level 1 compliant under the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) and active members of the PCI SSC (Security Standards Council). David O’Reilly, general manager, Sage Pay Ireland commented: “We have entered the card processing market because we believe it’s a good fit with our ethos of supporting Irish companies to manage their cash flow and grow their businesses. The technology is robust and secure and allows users to comply with data protection regulations, which mandate that the credit-card details should not be held longer than is necessary to promote the payment.”“Processing payments automatically helps ensure both cash flow and means your business is always active.  You know you are getting payment from customers’ instantaneously in one transaction, and you avoid wasting time, money and resources trying to chase up payments,” O’Reilly continued.
