$4 billion for green jobs scheduled by the Federal Reserve
Housing Secretary Shaun Donovan announced that some $4 billion from Obama's $787 billion economic stimulus plan budgeted to renovate public housing will be spent by the Federal Reserve on creation of so-called "green jobs".

Moreover, it is expected that Labor Secretary Hilda Solis will announce that $500 million from the stimulus will be invested in training workers for these jobs.

Several other Cabinet secretaries have also been working on highlighting policies and practices with the aim of improving the standard of living of the middle class that suffered from the crisis.

It is expected that the jobs to be created will be paying up to 20% more than other jobs, and will be union jobs and are more likely to be held by men, less so by minorities and people who live in cities and are ones that cannot be easily transferred overseas.

Donovan explained that the investment in public housing will be targeted at improving the quality of public housing, reducing energy costs, and creating jobs for residents of the units and surrounding community.

The energy, education and labor secretaries are also expected to help the unemployed problems, in particular with jobs, training and education opportunities.
