Barclays fixes m-banking service

Barclays.mobi unveils a revamped site making banking simpler and more intuitive for people using mobile phones to that end. Banking information can now be easily viewed on a mobile phone browser, ultimately saving customers time when using the service. The banking information now fits easily on their browser making it quicker for customers to use any banking service, for example to view their account balance, statements at a glance, make transfers between accounts and make payments outside of the bank. In addition, they can find branches and ATMs, get answers to banking questions, view product offers and get support through the online banking helpdesk. Sean Gilchrist, Barclays Digital Banking Director emphasizes the uniqueness of the offer: "We are the only UK bank to offer a specific mobi domain site which gives customers the benefit of having web pages designed specifically for viewing on mobile phones. We have experienced phenomenal growth, more than a 100 per cent since the start of the year with customers browsing banking services through their mobile phones. With this increased consumer demand it's important for Barclays to continually build on the strategy of improving the services for mobile banking customers." At the beginning of the year Barclays became the first UK bank to offer its mobile banking customers free Kaspersky mobile fraud protection as fraudsters become more sophisticated. It covers anti-virus, anti spam and anti theft protection.
