New e-mail malware targets WorldPay customers

Sophos security company researches are warning online users about a new e-mail scam targeting customers of WorldPay with malicious codes, in which company represents itself as Amazon Inc. As the research company believes WorldPay was chosen by malware creators as a well-known company especially after making news headlines several times recently.

 

Sent to people randomly e-mail is providing with an attachment containing an invoice for the so-called purchase, and when it’s opened, a malicious program is downloaded on the user's system. The malicious software was identified by Sophos as Troj/Agent-JUC. 

 

Sophos also notes that the fraudulent e-mail seems valid and sounds believable as correctly spelled words and a text formal are used. The fraudulent e-mail appears with «WorldPay CARD transaction Confirmation" caption and claims that WorldPay has completed processing of the consumer's transaction and he would be notified at some later date about his order's hand over.
