Citi considering the sale of Primerica's marketing arm

According to the Bloomberg, the executives of Citi’s subsidiary Primerica Financial Services company are seeking for the ways to sell the division's marketing arm.

The executives are estimating the interest of such private-equity companies as J.C. Flowers & Co, Blackstone Group and TPG Inc in acquiring the division.

According to the people familiar with the deal, Citigroup hasn’t approved the plan.

As it’s being discussed, one of the opportunities assumes marketing arm to split from Citigroup and to start selling policies backed by a new insurer; and at the same time the New York company is to hold assets and liabilities from Primerica policies that have already been sold.
