Deloitte will be piloting a new Visa card among its employees
Deloitte has revealed it was piloting a corporate Visa Barclaycard aimed at generating one-time passwords for remotely accessing company's IT system.

The piloting is expected to continue for three month and around 500 Deloitte staff will be using the card developed using technology from Australia-based Emue.

The card has a keypad and an LCD screen embedded into it. Users enter their PIN and generate a one-time use passcode, which is then authenticated by the virtual private network.

It is also known that the card is compatible with Verified by Visa which makes it secure against CNP fraud and identity theft associated with online banking, telephone authentication and other remote channels.

Moreover, the card is expected to reduce costs in comparison to using a separate token device.

Four European banks had outlined plans to pilot an OTP Visa card in consumer transactions online or by telephone back in November.
