eBay determined to invade media market and jostle Amazon
As eBay earlier announced to its sellers now through the end of 2009 they can pay only 5 cents when they list books, music, movies, and video games on eBay.com in Fixed Price with product details. Their listings will be shown on both the new eBay product pages and in search results. Besides, sellers can also get Subtitle free with Fixed Price and Auction-style listings in these categories when they list with product details. Above all as it was said in March Half.com sellers can now choose to have their listings show up on eBay product pages at no extra cost.

Last week in a post on the official site of eBay Dinesh Lathi, VP, Seller Experience, said: “We're pulling out all the stops to make eBay a top shopping destination for books, music, movies and DVDs, and video games. That means giving you the pricing and exposure you need to succeed, so your buyers can get the deals and selection they demand.”

The move seems to come as a strategy aimed at not just competing Amazon in the sector of selling media content eBay wants more. It is obviously determined to break off a larger piece of the market pie and gain over the sellers from Amazon.com which is now the leading marketplace for selling such products as books, music, movies and DVDs, and video games.
