Data breach implicated $12.6 Million in losses for Heartland by now
The figure of $12.6 million was mentioned last week by Heartland Payment Systems as the losses it incurred as a result of last year data breach. These losses include fines from Visa and MasterCard who said the company was not compliant with the payment card industry standards. Meantime executives of Heartland acknowledged that while the data breach became a heavy burden for the company these losses are not in their final record.

Besides, Heartland’s officials also disclaimed the allegations of MasterCard that the payment processor failed to quickly respond when it was first time notified last year about possible data breach. Heartland stated it is going to contest MasterCard’s claims legally.
