More software offerings to come soon from Oracle

Oracle Corp, one of the largest business software makers, is set to increase the line of its programs accessible via the Web. In particular, the source familiar with the matter said, the company was planning to develop its Internet-based programs to help businesses manage human resources functions.

The company is also known to be working at its line of customer relationship management (CRM) software. Those CRM programs would compete with the products of Salesforce.com Inc, also known as software as a service (SaaS). Main advantage of SaaS is that producers host the programs at their own data centers, thus, saving customers the costs of running them on their personal computers.

It is not clear yet when Oracle will release the products.

It should also be reminded that when last year Larry Ellison, Oracle Chief Executive announced that Oracle's small SaaS division had turned its first profit, he had highlighted that it is one of company’s fastest-growing businesses.
