Over 76% of Japanese web users get charmed with entertainment sites
A report published by comScore shows that 45.7 million of Internet users in Japan visited entertainment websites in February 2009 while the total number of online subscribers as of December accounts fro 60 million. The research revealed that Japanese web surfers spent about 15% of their online time to skim through entertainments sites including TV, music and online video websites.

Of these sites YouTube turned to enjoy highest popularity with the Japanese during February followed by Sony Online, iTunes and Nicovideo.jp. According to Maru Sato, managing director of comScore Japan, it is rapidly evolving interactive technology that helped these entertainment websites to attract more Internet subscribers by enhanced user experience.

"Many of the top entertainment sites manage to combine a large visitor base with heavy user engagement, making them particularly attractive venues for online marketers and advertisers to reach their target audiences," the expert added.
