PartyGaming achieved a settlement with U.S. authorities
An online gambling company PartyGaming announced a legal settlement with the U.S. investigators. As it is known the U.S. Attorney General was investigating into the gambling site since the time when the U.S. Congress passed the Safe Port Act in 2006 which effectively banned online casino businesses to accept U.S. citizens.

PartyGaming ceased taking bets from US customers, which were identified from credit card address. Before the restriction was imposed by the lawmakers the company got 80% of its revenue from U.S. gamblers.

Under the settlement PartyGaming is to pay $105 million to the U.S. Attorney General within the following six months. Besides, the company also admits taking bets from American citizens prior to October 2006 in breach of other U.S. laws. PartyGaming pledged to further prevent U.S. gamblers from accessing its services.
