Google compromised plastic card data of about 20,000 Britons?
Plastic card details of 19,000 Britons were recently found hosted in the web cache of Google, reports the Register. The financial data included the names, addresses, card numbers and expiry dates for UK-based holders of Visa, MasterCard and American Express holders. This information could be accessed by anyone who knew the proper search query.

Originally the data was put on a website server located in Vietnam. According to some suggestions it was made by a mistake by data thieves who wanted to sell it to other scammers. The site was closed on February but Google’s cache continued to keep it until the company employees finally deleted it.

According to a bank industry group many compromised cards were already cancelled.
