Alibaba.com needs more employees
Alibaba.com Limited’s vice president for global sales Zhang Ziheng has revealed the company was planning to triple the number of its employees in its Taiwan office in 2009.

The increase would make the headcount of its Taiwan office to top 100.

The vice president also added that Alibaba considered 2009 to be an "investment year", as the company was going to spend USD 30 million on advertising in the US and Europe. 

The financial situation of the Hangzhou-headquartered e-commerce could be identified from its statements posted. According to those the company had made a net profit of CNY 1.205 billion in 2008, a rise of 95% from 2007; total revenue of the company rose 39% year on year and made CNY 3.001 billion. It should also be noted that the number of its registered users increased by 10.5 million and online stores by 1.7 million last year.
