Guests who can’t access their cell phones do not return to such hotels
A recent survey commissioned by Repeated Signal Solutions (RSS) showed that 54 percent of travelers who notice poor cell phone reception at a hotel may never return to it.

1,000 adults surveyed by a national independent research firm by telephone were asked if they would consider their loyalty to a place after receiving poor or no cell phone reception with all other factors being equal. 57 percent of hotel visitors who belonged to 35-54 age group and had an annual income of $50,000 - $100,000 showed the highest result, which means this social group considered cell phone reception to be a vital factor in choosing among hotels to stay.

Moreover, Scott Groff, president of Repeated Signal Solutions said there was a high demand for a cell phone friendly office space for receiving and sending calls and text messages through such devices as BlackBerries and iPhones.

He also highlighted the need of cell phone reception at the hospitals and medical centers. He explained the need for wireless connectivity for doctors, which “is correlated directly to patient health,” and to the loved ones of the patient who use cell phones to communicate with the patient. So, according to the survey, assuming respondents could keep their own doctors, 40 percent of those earning $50,000 - $100,000 would be ready to consider switching medical facilities.
