Windows Vista reaches 30% market share for the first time
According to the research, conducted by StatCounter Global Stats, one of the largest website traffic monitoring companies in the world, analysis of which is based on four billion pageloads per month, Windows Vista for the first time last week broke 30% share of the operating system market in the US. As CEO and founder of StatCounter Aodhan Cullen said, the company is suggesting that it is gaining some consistent traction in the US.

However, the data reflect that resistance to Vista in the business market still exists, illustrating clearly that Vista weakens at the weekends while XP weakens during week days.

Cullen also stated Mac OS X is gaining market share. Its operating system market share has increased 25% last week: from 6.6% in January to 8.3%. Windows XP still leads the market with last week 56.6% that is down from 70% in January.
