WebAward.org has recently released the 2009 Internet Standards Assessment Report (ISAR). The report contains specific benchmarking data aimed at helping the bank and credit union industries create more award-winning websites.
The Credit Union Web sites have consistently been underperforming the overall ISAR index for ten years in a raw. They scored highest in content, ease of use and interactivity, and lowest in innovation and use of technology. Moreover, their score in all areas except interactivity had been below the 5-year criteria benchmark average.
The banking industry, on the other hand, has showed a slight underperformance in 2005 and 2007. The sites of the industry have scored high in content and copywriting, and lowest in technology and innovation. Banking industry Web sites have been underperforming the 5-year criteria benchmark averages in all areas.
