Monitise-Carphone Warehouse alliance to provide with m-banking service

Monitise has announced its partnership with Carphone Warehouse, a handset merchant, aiming to pre-install mobile money and banking software on new phones.  Monitise is now working on the Carphone Warehouse pre-paid card, which has started to be worked out along with US partner Metavante last May and has yet to be launched.

This software is to enable customers to check balances, view recent transactions and transfer money through their handsets. Great number of the UK's biggest banks, including HSBC, Lloyds TSB, first direct, Alliance & Leicester, RBS and NatWest are among the Monitise customers.

As CEO of Carphone Warehouse Charles Dunstone says, Monitise claims to be a leading expert in mobile money by connecting with the widest range of leading banks and mobile network partners, so this partnership means that the majority of consumers can simply 'switch on' their mobile bank.

At the same time Monitise Group CEO, states that this alliance is to become the largest 'Mobile Money' ecosystem in the world.
