eBay promotes sustainable consumption and creates its Green Team
On Wednesday eBay announced that it is launching the eBay Green Team which is a new project aimed at encouraging sellers and buyers to offer and purchase green and sustainable products that would save both consumers money and the planet. eBay invites buyers, sellers and anyone interested to join a new portal eBay.com/greenteam.

Under the Green Team program people are invited to participate in conversation and community around sustainable shopping. On the eBay.com/greenteam web site visitors will find a rich content, numerous tips and suggestions for everyday buying decisions and seller operations, as well as resources from the environmental community.

Apart from promoting sustainable shopping ideas on the Internet eBay is also making steps to extend Green Team awareness offline via its partnership with Hearst Magazines. All 14 editions of Hearst Magazines in April will be covering the issue of sustainable consumption under the “30 Days of Green” promo action.

Besides, eBay is also launching a social media campaign in Facebook and in the blogosphere that will showcase employees who are personally committed to a green way of living, and celebrity auction tie-ins on eBay.com that will generate additional awareness for sustainable consumption issues.
