Metavante and Monitise Americas cooperate for Text Message Banking service

Metavante, a provider of integrated payments solutions, including bill pay, prepaid and the NYCE Network, with its mobile financial services creating a clear line of sight to mobile payments and commerce, and Monitise Americas, well-known as a provider of mobile money services using secure applications that consumers download to their cell phones, teamed to launch a new message banking service.

Companies implemented text message banking services that will enable customers to use text messaging to obtain any-time balance information on their accounts. Additionally this service let customers set alerts to notify them when their balance is low or when their payroll deposit has arrived.

Adding such a service as text message banking, Monitise Americas aims to deliver financial information to all mobile phone users, whether they have advanced, data-enabled handsets or more simple devices.

Metavante representative told that company’s intention is to keep clients competitive by moving consumers to mobile banking. While Monitise Americas chairman of the board considers that a new service will make money management via a mobile phone available to anyone virtually and make it easy for even reluctant customers to engage with the idea of using their mobile phones to manage their finances.
