Trusteer Rapport provides PII Security to 10 financial institutions

Trusteer announced that last year 10 financial institutions employed its Rapport to protect customers and their personally identifiable information (PII). Central Bank, a regional bank in Kentucky, is the latest customer to use Rapport. The browser security product has been offered free of charge to the customers of seven banks in the US, Canada, and UK, as well as two credit unions and one brokerage firm.

The Trusteer Rapport serves a vault inside a user’s web browser to protect online transactions and precludes redirection attacks, and provides security during the transmission by barring communication. According to Luther Deaton, CEO of Central Bank, “Trusteer’s Rapport product enables us to offer our customers a free and transparent security mechanism that protects them and the bank from a myriad of internet crime schemes including keystroke loggers as well as phishing and pharming attacks.”

Regulatory and privacy acts have been putting financial institutions under pressure to provide better PII protection as crime schemes with PII theft is growing.  The Trusteer Rapport provides a new approach for online PII protection and has been recognized by a growing number financial institutions.
