Google Checkout will help to watch YouTube videos offline

YouTube has announced that it is working on making its videos available offline. Thai Tran, Product Manager, has posted a blog content on the YouTube Blog informing the consumers of developments.

According to the product manager, YouTube will be using Creative Commons licenses that authorize license holders to reuse downloaded content in particular conditions. Also, YouTube is going to test the possibility of downloading vides with permission from the owners. The partners can decide whether the video can be downloaded for free, on its price and the type of license that will be attached to the videos. The fees can be paid with the help of Google Checkout.

To start up, YouTube is testing free downloads of videos from Stanford, Duke, UC Berkeley, UCLA, and UCTV. These universities are offering lectures and research videos on YouTube for free. Downloads will be available from the link to the download option below the left-hand corner of the video and purchases can be tracked from “My purchases” section.
