MoBank, a company founded in 2006, is launching at last
MoBank, the UK-based mobile banking and payments service, is launching this month and establishing a call center in the Isle of Man, run by Steph Gregg, a veteran of Egg, First Direct and Vodafone. The company founded by Steve Townsend and Dominic Keen, who blazed many online banking trails at Egg and First Direct, poses itself as creating the world's first mobile-led online bank.

MoBank was founded in 2006 and presented at The Essential Web conference in June 2007. Last month the company was named to Red Herring's top-100 global startup list. On the first stage of its operation the company will be providing bill payment and certain mcommerce activities, such as purchasing movie tickets. The developers also planning to introduce an iPhone app. Further, the company expects its service to expand into mobile banking and money management activities. According to media reports MoBank raised more than $1 million.
