Help Iraqi soldiers and you will stay out of pocket

The world of cyber space today is literally stuffed with the great variety of scams and frauds. Scammers invented thousands of methods to defraud people and rob them of their money. Daily Internet subscribers across the globe receive different messages that try to draw them into giving away their financial information or sending funds as a charity to help somebody suffering from bad environment or other things. Recently the cybercriminals invented a new rather original way to fool the online users.

Many individuals received a letter that alleged to have been sent from some soldier that serves in Iraq. The soldier turns out to have accumulated a large amount of money with his fellow servicemen. In the letter Internet users were asked for assistance in bringing those money back to the U.S. If interested a user was offered to contact the person that sent the message. Here is the full text of that message:

I am SSG Dewayne Pittman, an active American soldier serving in Iraq, I am serving in the military of the 1st Armored Division in Iraq, as our mission here is highly exclusive due to insurgents everyday and car bombs are attacking our peaceful mission here. 

We managed to secure funds from the war zone. The total amount is US$ 9 Million dollars in cash. We want to move this money out of this place, this place is a war zone, so that you may keep our share for us till when we will come over to meet you. We will take 70%, my partner and I. You take 30%.

No strings attached, just help us move it out of Iraq, Iraq is a war zone. We plan on using diplomatic courier and shipping the money out in a large box, using diplomatic immunity.

While the message itself is something new in what it contains, but actually, the type of scam is being used very often. Hundreds of messages are sent in the introductions and other social networking sites that claim to be written by some victim of terror or political persecution.
