TransCard and Socialwise launching gift giving project
Soon a new prepaid program for online gift giving will be conjointly introduced by TransCard and Socialwise, Inc. TransCard is a leading provider of prepaid debit card solutions branded with MasterCard®, Discover® Network and STAR associations. San Diego-based Socialwise, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of ideaEDGE, Inc.

Within the frames of their partnership TransCard provides a complete card program for Socialwise along with total platform integration with their internal systems. Apart from using TransCard’s technology for back-end functions, Socialwise and TransCard will offer a Socialwise-branded prepaid debit card.

According Craig Fuller, CEO of TransCard, the product of Socialwise is mainly oriented to young consumers to allow them to avoid overspending when making purchases online. Inasmuch as the card is prepaid which means that all funds are loaded upfront it eliminates any cases of affecting the user’s or their parents’ credit. Socialwise also offers unique online applications such as BillMyParents™, which allows parents to safeguard their children’s purchases, and Gimme!, a way to organize group gifting through donating to select gift cards.
