Apple's new iWork '09 is a source of Trojan?
Pirated copies of Apple Inc.'s new iWork '09 application have been announced to contain a Trojan horse. It hijacks Macs and leaves them vulnerable to further attack.

Installation of the Trojan begins with the start of installation of iWork. Afterwards it immediately reports to the hacker that the Mac has been compromised and waits for further instructions, which have not been defined.

Users on Pirate Bay have also confirmed that copies of iWork '09 harbored the Trojan.

Apple had launched iWork '09 at Macworld Conference & Expo on Jan. 6. The software is being sold for $79.Additionally, a free 30-day trial version that does require a serial number is being offered by the company. The serial number in cases of purchase is delivered via e-mail at the time of payment.

Because Mac-only malware is a rarity, Apple has publicly mocked Microsoft Corp. about the number of them taking aim at the Windows operating system.
