Forbes gives Global Payment the status of a "Best Big Company"
Forbes.com gave a good mark to Global Payments Inc. , a leader in electronic transaction processing services. It rated it as one of the "Platinum 400 - Best Big Companies." Global Payments gets a special place in the report on the Forbes.com Web site in the "Business Services and Supplies" department. And being there is rather prestigious if counts that Forbes.com put only 26 industries in its prestigious list.

Forbes.com selected the so-called Platinum 400 according to the following factors: sales and earnings growth, debt to total capital, earnings outlook, and stock market returns. Those factors are the platform on which they list "The Best Big Companies in America". And making such list was very serious, detailing and difficult thing to do. In fact the candidates were chosen from a pool of nearly 1,100 corporations that have a significant presence in the U.S., at least $1 billion in revenue, a stock price of at least $5 per share and positive equity.

However, the creation and suggestion of the final list was even more difficult. To get down to a final list of 400 Platinum companies, Forbes.com did several steps. It began by assigning companies into 26 industries and ranking them against their peers on five-year and 12-month sales and earnings growth. Also a total return to shareholders was taken into account. The ranking system also included consensus forecasts for long-term earnings growth and debt-to-capital ratios. After all of those ratings the companies got their individual scores and an overall rank within its industry.
