Property Tax and Water bills are now payable through SMS

MCGM has announced it had entered into an alliance with ItzCash to facilitate payment of Property Tax and Water Bills. Now consumers can pay for property tax and water bills through sending an SMS to 57575 with the required details. 

Mr. Naveen Surya, MD, ItzCash Card Ltd.Speaking commenting on the situation, said companies were aiming at attracting new customers. “ItzCash believes in facilitating m-commerce and endeavor to reach a broader spectrum of customers across different socio-economic strata,” he added.

Currently ItzCash Card can be used for payment of more than 3000 services and can be purchased from ItzCash stores which are available at more than 100000 locations. The card is offered in a denomination of Rs.100 – Rs. 20,000. 

The ItzCash Card can be purchased for the same amount as the bill amount. The cash card has a 9-digit number (CCN). Users are required to send an SMS to 57575 mentioning the CCN and the bill number. Then the SMS is received by MCGM’s IT control room. As the next step the SMS is sent back mentioning the pending bill amount. After that the user is required to send a second SMS with the bill number and amoun, alongwith the ItzCash Account Number, ID and the ItzCash pass word to 57575. And finally, an SMS is sent by MCGM confirming the bill payment with the receipt number and the transaction id number.
