Unprecedented service under partnership of NatWest and Monilink
First commission-free international service for mobile phone payment transfers between customers’ current accounts in the UK and their PKO BP accounts in Poland was introduced by NatWest in association with Monilink, the mobile money people. NatWest announced that its Polish Welcome Account customers can now send money home to spend over the Christmas period. Thus, Welcome Account customers now have an additional convenience of making money transfers from their mobile phones.

Initially, the service is to be available only to NatWest Welcome Account customers but the company plans to extend the service in the future so as to cover customers in other countries as well. Money transfers are performed via the NatWest Mobile Phone Banking service on mobile phones of customers. As soon as a customer signs up for the service through the Internet and completes enrolment and security process they can initiate international money transfer service.

John Milliken, managing director of Monilink notes: “The mobile phone is the ideal way to control personal transactions such as money transfers to friends and family overseas. By being the first to bring this level of control to their Polish customers, NatWest has once again demonstrated its commitment to providing customers with even more control over their money, wherever and whenever they require.”
