New service from Voice Commerce allows making TV purchases with your voice
Merchants now will be able to sell their products and services instantly via any TV or IPTV program. Voice Commerce Group, a provider of payment systems, has launched its VoicePay TV, a new payment processing service that enables customers watching TV to purchases the item they see on their screens just by dialing the dedicated phone number and verifying the transaction with their voice.

Voice Commerce explains that the system allows businesses subscribed for the service to place a VoicePay logo, free-phone number and a VoicePay product code into any video advertisement. When an individual watching any program sees an advert showing a product they want to purchase they can call the VoicePay number and authorize the transaction by 'signing' for purchase with their voice. But in order to perform a transaction customers should be registered with VoicePay and have their account which is used with their voice signature, a device consisting of an individual's voice biometrics as well as their purchasing history, trends and location patterns. A nominated credit or debit card linked to their voice signature is used to make payments.

The fee charged on the businesses for the service is £150 a year with no transaction charges for the first £10,000 worth of sales. Later VoicePay TV is expected to support any type of payment including e-commerce and mobile commerce.
