eCommLink and Rechargeplus enable money transfers to no-bank areas
A new remittance service will be available to people who want to transfer their salaries they earn in the US to their home countries. Under the alliance of eCommLink and Rechargeplus Global customers will be provided with the prepaid debit service linked to mobile and merchant applications. The new platform is aimed helping recipients in those areas with little or restricted access to local banks or money transfer stores to seamlessly access their funds.

The Rechargeplus card program solution, processed by eCommLink, provides a set of linked prepaid debit cards. Thus a migrant worker loads his/her salary to a card account and then transfers any portion of funds at any time to the linked card of his/her beneficiary. As soon as the funds are transferred the recipient can use them at any POS system, withdraw from an ATM machine, or transfer funds from the card to any participating merchant around the world.

As it was noted the solution is closely integrated with the cardholder’s mobile phone as well. Using his/her handset a cardholder can transfer funds, check a balance, pay bills and so on with a simple text message or online using the cardholder web portal. The joint solution from eCommLink and Rechargeplus is supported by local banks and merchants in participating countries. The card programs adhere to the local and international Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements and also support the financial needs of these foreign workers in the areas of bill payments, mobile top ups and insurance payments.
