Western Union will start new year with new management team

Colorado-based the Western Union Company, a worldwide leader in money transfer services, has announced the coming changes in company management team. According to company's press release David G. Barnes, executive vice president and chief strategy officer is leaving the company. Barnes will join a privately held company based in Colorado in early January 2009. 

"Strategy remains a strong focal point for the company in its efforts to grow its global consumer and payments businesses,” said President and Chief Executive Officer Christina A. Gold. "We will miss David’s business acumen and wish him well in his future endeavors” 

Barnes’s departure will be effective on January 2, 2009. 

It is unknown who will replace  David G. Barnes
