Qualcomm Incorporated replaces its president
Qualcomm Incorporated announced that Flavio Mansi has been promoted to senior vice president and president of Qualcomm Latin America since the current president of Qualcomm Brazil and from Qualcomm Marco Aurelio Rodrigues is retiring from his position.

“During more than seven years at Qualcomm, Flavio has established strong relationships with partners in Latin America and has been instrumental in the growth of 3G in the region,” said Peggy Johnson, executive vice president of Qualcomm Americas and India. “I thank Marco Aurelio for his 13 years of contributions to the company in the Brazilian market from establishing Qualcomm's presence to working with our partners on the early deployments of CDMA up to the recent launches of 3G HSPA.”

Mansi joined Qualcomm in 2001 as vice president of business development. He has established and grown strong relationships with the largest 3G operators and vendors in the region. Working closely with Qualcomm CDMA Technologies, Qualcomm Internet Services, MediaFLO Technologies and Qualcomm's Engineering Services Group, he has gained success and traction for numerous Qualcomm technologies and services. Mansi was instrumental in facilitating the entry of new data card manufacturers into the Latin American market.

Rodrigues' retirement from his current position as president of Qualcomm Brazil is effective December 31, 2008, concluding a distinguished 45-year career in the telecommunications industry. He joined Qualcomm in 1995 as founder and president of the Brazilian operations.
