Verizon Enhances Parental Control Resource Center
Verizon is simplifying the process of finding and accessing the online parental controls and resources for its customers.

The Web site of Verizon Wireless provides its consumers using Verizon FiOS TV and Verizon’s high-speed Internet, online tools for managing those services. Moreover the site offers links to video tutorials, usage tips, expert Web sites and other information in order to help parents control their families’ wireless, TV and online use.

Following are the links developed by Verizon for the new Parental Control Web page:

Verizon Wireless content filters – enable parents to block materials according to the age-based system including C7+ content for children 7 and older; T13+ for 13 and older; and YA17+ for 17 and older.

Verizon FiOS TV parental controls – using which parents can block specific channels; hide information for adult-rated content in TV listings; and create a four-digit pin to manage what can and cannot be watched.

Development of this Web site was on the list of the topics discussed on Thursday Dec. 11 at the Family Online Safety Institute’s (FOSI) annual conference. Jack McArtney, associate director of marketing of the company was to cite him along with other 8 people for his commitment to online safety, presenting him the FOSI Award for Outstanding Achievement.
