Users of a social network will be able to send virtual gifts in the form of national dishes or other ethnic stuff. hi5, one of the world's largest and fastest-growing social networks, is introducing its virtual gifting application hi5 Gifts. Initially hi5 Gift Store will be offering an assortment of 36 gifts along with the new integrated online currency hi5 Coins introduced. Using this payment option, hi5 users will be able to purchase premium gifts for their friends or relatives.

Virtual gifts offered at hi5 Gift Store are mostly based on holiday traditions, customs and nuances that are related to distinct populations worldwide. For instance, at launch, hi5 Gifts offers a virtual "Rosca," which is a cake that Mexicans eat on Jan. 6 in celebration of Three Kings' Day; a steamed pork bun, which is a popular baked good in Chinese culture; and a dreidel, which is a popular toy for children during the Jewish holiday Hanukkah.

With the newly launched virtual currency hi5 Coins members of hi5 can purchase premium goods and services on the site. Users can purchase hi5 Coins with their credit card or debit card through ClickandBuy, a leading online payment service provider.
