EMarketer reports on user Internet skills
As the research conducted by USC Annenberg School Center for the Digital Future shows, more than three quarters of surveyed Internet users are confident in their Web skills, states eMarketer.

Only 44% of respondents had answered they possessed the same skills, when the same survey was held in users 2000. On the other hand, the percentage of Internet users who said their online skills were poor fell from 28% in 2000 to only 3% this time.

The above stated fact proves that comparing to the earlier times, when digital marketers had to work hard on their campaign messages to reach their targets, now they can be sure that most Internet users will perform the tasks required by an average digital campaign.

An obvious effect of the rise in Internet skills is the rise in time spent online. Harris Interactive, who interviewed US adult Internet users in October found out they spent an average of 14 hours online per week, which is twice as much as they used to spend in October 2001.
