People's Bank introduces 'People's eRemittance' service
People's Bank introduced 'People's eRemittance' , which is a web-based product supported by the latest technology for sending remittances to Sri Lanka, with the aim of providing fast and safe service based on modern technology, reports Dailymirror.

Currently the service of People's eRemittance is available through Correspondent Agents/Exchange Companies of People's Bank in Australia, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and the UAE. But the bank is planning on expansion.
People's eRemittance insures that the remittance is transferred fast through promoting internet as a medium of data transfer. Moreover, the remitter, the receiver/beneficiary, and the agents using People's eRemittance can learn the status of the remittance just by logging on to the website. Additionally, the access to People's eRemittance system is password protected, which makes the system secure. Another advantage of the system is that the beneficiary is not required to have an account at People's Bank or any other local Bank to receive the money. They can obtain cash on producing a valid identity card.

People's eRemittance has 418 online service points, another 140 computer linked points, over 200 ATMs island wide, and 10mn loyal customers. It had won the 'Service Brand of the Year' award at the People's Awards 2008, and was voted the 'Best Loved Bank' in the Banking and Financial Sector for the third year in a row.
