Citibank Indonesia attracts youth with contactless card and social networking
In order to target youth market and attract young specialist Citibank in Indonesia decided to launch a contacless payment card and associated social networking site. For that purpose Citibank offered Citi Clear Card that supports Visa PayWave shortwave wireless technology. Using it customers are able to purchase to the value of Rp 200,000 and under. Larger value purchases are available via the traditional transaction processes. 

According to Irfan Ahmed, card business head, Citibank Indonesia new card is rather transparent and made for the customers aged between 21 and 39 who concern about Internet, high tech and can embrace it in all facets of live. He assured that Citi Clear Card offers significant benefits including a social networking site that features lots of content related to young interests such as music, clubbing, dining, shopping and entertainment. 

As Fransisca Arnan, Citi product manager explained Citi Clear Card is intended to satisfy the young customers’ needs. It is known that young users spend a lot on lifestyle focused areas including fashion, gadgets, new generation technology. Citibank Indonesia took this into account and developed a “Monday to Sunday” (M2S) Privileges and Clear Afterhours rewards package. And this Afterhouse program also includes many sites where young people prefer to spend their time, enjoying live music and “buy 1 get 1 free” food and beverage offers. 

The clearafterhours website offers online messaging, blogging and other online information option that can be interesting for youth professionals.
