First Data launches new MasterCard general-purpose prepaid card
A private German bank Bankverein Werther AG and a global leader in e-commerce and payment systems First Data have launched a new MasterCard-branded general-purpose prepaid card.  

The card will enable the banks to expand their target groups by providing new services to the youth market and those, who want to control spending. According to the agreement conditions, First Data will provide card processing services, and work with Bankverein Werther to add such benefits to the cards as using it as prepaid card for mobile bill payment, top up and reload.  

The card will be issued in cooperation with a leading international mobile and interactive value added services provider AG. 

First Data is an international leader in information commerce. The company processes transaction data, utilises the power of that data and supplys innovations in secure infrastructure, intelligence and insight for its customers in 37 countries. First Data operates at more than 5.4 million merchant locations and serves 2,000 card issuers and their customers. 

Bankverein Werther AG was established in 1877 in eastern Westphalia. Since then the bank has expanded throughout Germany. The range of services offered by Bankverein Werther AG include a large spectrum of financial services from classical deposits, loans and the mediation and financing of real estate to product supplier-independent improvidence and insurance advisory, stock trading and holistic investment counseling, and managing corporate and institutional assets.
