The online fraud threatens UK adults
According to XIRING survey the two-thirds of adults in the UK think that online banking becomes less secure. It has found that 62 per cent of UK adults note that the online banking security system under danger since they signed up to the service. And it is rather tough to make them feel differently. When they were asked what would change their opinion and would make them feel confident, 21 per cent said that it would be preferable to launch an extra security options.

Even though 50 percent of adult users confessed that the scary e-banking stories disturb them at the time of signing up for the service, they trusted their banks and had confidence in their e-security systems. Today 32 per cent of adult online banking users would feel confident if an extra layer of security would be added to their smart card reader.

Also the research showed that only 5 percent of consumers would use their mobile phone for online transactions.

However, most consumers didn’t experience online fraud themselves and only ten per cent mentioned that such experience affected their online habits.

As Laurent Maitre, marketing director at XIRING noted that even though the some UK e-banking users are aware of the online transaction security risks still an extra security personal question enables to overpersuade them because they believe it will protect them against online fraud. So there is no surprise that all online banking users look to add an extra layer of security to their online transactions through a special password solution.
