Google Chrome has left Microsoft Internet Explorer far behind
What internet browser do you prefer? Why do you like it? Actually the most popular answer will definitely be a speed of the browser work. Having analyzed people’s preferences it was found that the most popular web browser is Internet Explorer which is used by 71.27% of the internet users, 20% people prefer Mozilla Firefox and 6.67% Internet users choose Safari. However, what was the answer to the question we asked in the very beginning? Yes, it was speed. ExtremeTech decided to test the most popular Internet browsers to find the fastest one. The initiators of the test were counting the time spent to load the pages from ten content-rich websites. According to the test results the fastest browser is the one which even wasn’t mentioned before the recently launched Chrome, product of Google. Among other browsers were Internet Explorer 7 (IE7.0.6001.18000), Safari3.2 (526.26.13), Firefox 3.04 and Opera 9.6. Chrome was presented by beta version

The second fastest browser was Firefox and the third one was Opera. Interestingly enough but IE7 and Safari were far behind the leaders. The popularity of IE is first of all explained by the domination of Bill Gates’ company Microsoft. And lots of the world leaders design the programs that fit mostly IE.

However the specialists say that Microsoft should reconsider its tactics: “Microsoft really needs to get IE8 out the door - IE7 not only has compatibility issues, but is substantially slower in many ways," said John Brandon, speaker of ExtremeTech.

"Google uses its own knowledge of search and browsing habits to optimise Chrome, but Chrome is still in early development," he added.
