Smartcard like sQuid service integrated with Uniwell
Under the new agreements signed by Uniwell Systems (UK) Ltd and sQuidcard customers of Uniwell will be able to accept low cost cashless transactions via sQuid eMoney platform. Uniwell announced that its electronic till platform was integrated with sQuidcard’s eMoney solution to enable contactless transactions with loyalty schemes.

The operational principle of the sQuid solution replicates that of a smartcard used for contactless payment. Through the network of tills customers can load their funds into the free prepaid card. At the moment there are two schools where first Uniwell enabled sQuid installations are available. Besides, sQuid is also available in Bolton and Dundee.

The advantage of sQuid is that it provides an available-to-all prepaid card being more flexible than bank card or other loyalty schemes, and significantly cheaper for retailers than any other cashless system. It has been specifically designed to replace cash transactions in fast retail environments, and is compatible with transport smartcard applications. In addition, it eliminates any need in bank account. As a part of the partnership Uniwell will offer this integrated solution through all its distribution partners.
