Internet users prefer mobile according to Nielsen Online
Nielsen Online reports the increasing usage of mobile Internet in the UK. The popularity of mobile Internet access increased 25% within a three month period which is 8 times greater than the rate of broadband growth. As of today 7.3 million people are accessing the Internet via their mobile devices according to the media analyst agency.

The unprecedented growth of mobile Internet against PC-based Internet is explained by the broadband saturation in the majority of mature countries, including the UK, which find it very difficult to subscribe new consumers. Another study published by Point Topic shows forecasts the broadband connectivity to increase just 11% by 2013 while in the period of 2004 to 2008 it rose 28%.

As it turns majority of mobile Internet users are young people. Nielsen shows that ¼ of mobile Internet subscribers are aged 15-24 in comparison with 16% of PC-based consumers. Meantime only 12% of customers aged over 55 use mobile Internet.
