Bank of America protects transactions with a new card
Additional security tool to prevent unauthorized transactions was introduced by the Bank of America, the nation's leading provider of online and mobile banking services. Along with the early introduced mobile phone based service customers of the bank will be able to use a special card at a cost of one-time fee of $19.99. The card is intended to safeguard the sensitive information during online or mobile transactions.

Newly released SafePass(R) Card is a wallet-sized card that deploys a one-time-use, six-digit code sent as a text message to consumers' mobile devices to authorize and help safeguard sensitive transactions. Among the main advantages of the card there is additional layer of security for online transfers and BillPay, increased transfer limits and additional security of SiteKey(R) authentication for transactions from unrecognized computers and mobile devices.

In order to obtain a one-time-use, six-digit security code a customer has to push the embedded button on the card. In case the SafePass Card be lost or stolen there is no personal information for authentication purposes on the card to be compromised. While the use of the SafePass Card is available for a fee customers still can use the mobile-phone-based SafePass for free.
