Asia-Pacific and India are happy with online shopping
Visa conducted a study to track the state of ecommerce in the Asia-Pacific region. The survey revealed that within the last 12 months 75% of the respondents purchased at least any form of digital entertainment online. Among the most popular digital categories were music downloads purchased by 63% of the polled.

India is leading the 5th place with the average online spending in the past 12 months amounting $2,147 while 80% of Internet subscribers polled in the Asia-Pacific had average spending of $3,000 each. Besides, Visa's Asia-Pacific Regional Head, e-Commerce, Mohamad Hafidz, notes that in the Asia-Pacific a person averagely spent in the Internet 20.2 hours a month.

"Our own survey has revealed that online consumers in Asia-Pacific recognise the convenience of online shopping as reflected in the high percentage of Internet users who buy a wide range of products, from that for everyday use to the occasional high-value item online," Hafidz said.
