Barclaycard, extending its offices and operations
A new administrative office was recently opened by Barclaycard, the credit card division of Barclays PLC, in Long Island City, New York. The move is in line with the company’s pursuit of expanding its increasingly global operations. Within the following 12 months over 200 additional employees are expected to be hired for the new location.

Using this new office Barclaycard intends to support its operations worldwide and credit card businesses in the U.S., Europe, Africa and Asia, while focusing on credit risk with additional corporate finance and market analytics functions.

The address of the new Barclaycard office is 27-01 Bridge Plaza North, One MetLife Plaza, Long Island City, New York. The company signed a 15 year lease which specifies that it will occupy nearly 66,600 square-feet of space on three floors - part of which will be shared with Barclays Global Payments division. At the moment Barclaycard is actively conducting recruitment of new employees with 20 positions filled so far. Before coming to the new office these employees worked out of Barclays Capital's New York office.
