Dubai eGovernment has remarkably grown
e-Services become more preferable with many governments worldwide. And the world wide web turned to be an effective tool with what many users have no need to ever visit a government office.

Dubai eGoverment was launched in 2001 in order to provide convenient public service to nationals and residents as well as business. In fact His Highness Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai instructed that new technology. And since that time there has been a major shift from physical services towards e-services. Dubai eGovernment has grown from 14 online services in 2001 to more than 2,000 across 27 government entities today.

According to Garth Mitchell, English editor of Dubai eGovernment's web portal most Dubai web users prefer interact with government through the Internet technology. They go online to dubai.ae, search for government information, fulfill special forms, and make transactions and payments. And even if they want to complain of eGoverment services they can use provided online platform for that purpose.

Mitchell adds that Dubai eGoverment turned to be a mandatory mostly for all government departments to convert at least 90 her cent of their physical services into e-services. Only some visa and police service are considered on exception because they require personal presence.
However, Dubai eGovernment aims to develop. It is planned to use web 2.0 tools for user customization, synergistic services for mobile (mGovernment) and others.
