Enhancing security under the partnership of Bharti Airtel and VeriSign

In a move to protect customers against online fraud Indian leading telecom service provider Bharti Airtel partnered with VeriSign to introduce the solution that will allow institutions involved in services like online retail, gaming, travel portals to safeguard their customer’s identities. This additional tool is intended to facilitate the integration and operation of the security networks already used by these institutions and to prevent account compromise.

With the new solution supplied in various formats such credit-card sized form factor or tokens customers will be offered one-time passwords after they have entered their standard user name and password. This security tool can be used by different organizations with significant customers base including telecoms, e-gov initiatives, healthcare, financial services, insurance networks, broker/dealer.

“Through the strategic alliance, Airtel is aiming to build an ecosystem, which will allow more safe and secure web transactions to consumers and provide the much-needed impetus to e-commerce and m-transactions,” President Enterprise Services Bharti Airtel David Nishball said.
