ITAC offers superior fraud prevention service

Financial stress could cause the increase in fraud this holiday season that is why the Identity Theft Assistance Center warns consumers to use extra caution and protect their personal data. This nonprofit coalition of financial services companies offers ITAC Sentinel, a special set of tools providing superior fraud prevention. It also includes ITAC victim assistance. This service is aiming to fight identity theft with law enforcement. In fact it has helped more than 45, 000 consumers recover from identity theft.

Moreover, ITAC suggests for consumers various precautions, reminding them that identity theft can come from many sources. The ITAC experts advise to protect the purse or wallet because many personal belongings with important information are kept there. It is highly recommended to never disclose the PIN or account password to any online merchant for any reason, keep the anti-virus software updated.
