[img_assist|nid=7056|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=100|height=42]Moody's Investors Service gave "A3" 1st-time issuer to online auctioneer eBay Inc. eBay Inc got this special investment grade because of its leading market positions in online marketplace and payments segments, which make up about 94 percent of its revenue. It is known that eBay owns online payment service PayPal.

According to Richard Lane, Moody's senior vice president, eBay Inc deserved this "A3" rating because it has a large and loyal user base and a strong brand. Also eBay has the strengths, combined with solid business execution, financial flexibility. There were some important issues as relatively young and competitive corporate age and the evolving nature of e-commerce that helped eBay to get "A3" rating.
