The study about the popularity of and the general interest in voice verification conducted by Harris Interactive for Nuance Communications revealed that consumers welcome this technology for protecting their personal information.
The study found that almost two-fifths of the consumers surveyed would prefer dealing with a company that provides voice verification; the number grew to three-fifths at the end of the survey and after reviewing its benefits. 61% of the surveyed feel that this type of identity verification is a secure way to access customer records.
83 percent of the sample group agrees that companies should demand different types of identity verification depending on the nature of the transactions. The respondents also feel that voice verification is more secure than other security measured used over the phone such as passwords, pin numbers o? home phone number identification.
